Description

A rectangular mahogany case with a hinged lid and 2 copper alloy clasps. It is lined with navy velvet. The case contains: a cruciform base; a copper alloy telescopic stand; a silver bulb with a spout and a removable ivory cap that has an aperture in the centre; two mercury thermometers of which the long one is calibrated 50° - 110°, and the shorter 20° - 120°; a glass tube; a small copper alloy threaded ring; a cylindrical ivory handle with a threaded end.
