Description

Red leather covered case, with a soft leather hinge and two clasp fastening.  The outer base has a green leather covering.  Inside the case is lined with purple felt and has a recess in the lid and compartments in the base for storing post mortem instruments.  There is a paper manufacturer's label adhered to the velvet in the base of the case.  The case contains: A pair of metal scissors; one of the blades is cut short, the other is longer and has a hooked end.  A metal tapering chisel blade which has a square stem to attach to the handle.  A metal mallet; the head has a circular blunt end and a chisel-like end. The mallet handle is covered with ebonite.  A metal winged handle with a square hole to attach an instrument.
