Description

Wood-framed cog-wheel turning mechanism lantern slide. 6 screws attach the mechanism to the frame. The slide depicts signs of the zodiac and roman numerals 1-24. The top edge of the slide has a label that reads U. The bottom edge is inscribed Northern Hemisphere. The front of the slide has the number 4, and two other labels - one with an upwards pointing arrow and the other that reads from Radcl. Obs.(?) The rear of the slide is stamped with the maker's mark of Carpenter & Westley. A semi circle of black fabric or paper is taped to the front of the slide. A label "U" is on the reverse of the slide.
