Description

Carte de visite (albumen print mounted on card) of David Forbes, nearly half length, turned and facing left; vignetted. The card is cut away at the bottom edge, losing part of the photographer's printed details in a scroll. A New Street address suggests Birmingham, but the name is quite common of course.

David Forbes (1828-1876) was a mining engineer and consultant and a geologist and metallurgist, who had travelled extensively but lived in London from 1866.
