Description

The lamp is supported by a bracket on a retort stand with a circular base. Rack and pinion mechanisms at the rear of the bracket allow the position of the lamp to be adjusted vertically and laterally. The angle of the lamp is controlled by a horizontal, threaded steel bar with a mill-edged knob at each end mounted on this assembly. A collar at the front of the bracket holds the lamp fitment below which a glass reservoir is suspended. The housing for the fitment has a blue glass window and a conical chimney. A bull's-eye lens is set on an articulated arm consisting of three bars connected by sliding joints.
