Description
Carte de visite (albumen print mounted on card) of William Harvey, seated full length, turned slightly to left and looking nearly front, his right elbow resting on a book on a table and his head resting on his hand, his left hand holding a paper. Cut down top and bottom, or perhaps removed from a frame or mount. Contained in a later envelope. This is the oldest looking of the group of 7 photographs of Harvey, which span about a decade from c.1860. The pose he adopts is similar to 50524 and 6902.
