Description

A mechanical apparatus used to measure physiological fatigue.

A wood plank has on one end two brass posts with adjustable positions. In front of these is a taller wooden post. These three posts were probably used to position and isolate movement in certain components of the body (i.e. fingers). At the other end of the plank is a metal plate with clips for recording paper on either end that slides perpendicular to the plank along a toothed rack between two metal beams. On top, along two rods that connect these beams slides a metal bar with a rope tied to it. Behind the beams is a brass pulley wheel.
