Description
Square base plate with double circular scale of degrees [0]-180, [0]-180 and 180-[0], 180-[0], surounding a shadow square to 60 and a scale of polygons. There are two fixed sights and two sights on the alidade; all are slit sights. The large compass bowl (117 mm in diameter) on the alidade has a hinged lid serving as a universal equinoctial dial, and set against a folding quadrant arc. The reverse of the plate carries a quadrant with a threaded plumb bob.
