Description
12 Volt Fleming Valve, held in varnished wooden 'gallows' mounting with base, underlined with red baize. With two copper alloy(?) terminals upon upper surface base, and single copper alloy terminal upon ebonite protruding base attached to upper surface of 'gallows'. Valve consists of bulb envelope, with internal nickel-plated vertically-mounted anode and filaments, and asbestos filled tip connecting filaments to valve base.
This valve was used at Poldhu during the experimental demonstrations to officers of the Navy, Army and Post Office in 1905.
