Description

String carrier for an Einthoven-type string galvanometer, as used in physiological experiments; with vernier scale and large adjusting knob marked 'To Increase Sensitivity'. Instrument made of black metal with lacquered brass components. In partially baize-lined fitted mahogany case, with hinged lid and fragment of old paper label on top.

The instrument has the Cambridge Scientific Instrument Co. Ltd. trademark, consisting of an electrical bridge with a cam in the centre, printed on the underside. This trademark was suggested by Horace Darwin in February 1919 and was registered worldwide.
