Presented by Dr. E. G. T. Liddell in 1937. Previously used by his father, John Liddell, M.D., of Harrogate.
Other inscriptions
An unattached handwritten luggage label was found among unrelated material which reads as follows: "Formerly the property of John Liddell M.D. of Harrogate. Presented by his son E. G. T. Liddell. [single pen stroke divides label] The block contains a specimen of human skin taken from a live patient (biopsy)". The label definitely relates to accession 1937-31, a Cambridge Scientific Instrument Company rocking microtome of 1893 (see Accessions Register).
