Description

Two rectangular cardboard boxes that contain cardboard models of various steam engines. The models have moving pieces held in place by copper alloy pins. In one box, there are sixdels of steam engines, the "Belliss" compound engine, the Westinghouse single-acting double-cylinder engine, the Westinghouse single acting compound engine, the "Erith" compound engine, the "Clayton" compound tandem engine, and the Willans" central-valve compound engine. There is also a book of "NOTES / ON / WORKING MODELS / OF / HIGH SPEED / STEAM ENGINES" with a blue-grey cover. The other box has two models of steam engines, a complete single-cylinder steam engine and a complete simple steam engine. There is also a book of "NOTES / ON / WORKING MODELS / OF / SIMPLE STEAM / ENGINES / "X" SERIES" with a red cover. There are also three paper pamphlets in the box.
