Description

Toy compound microscope. Instrument has a cylindrical pillar set in a circular base. A barrel tube is set in an arm mounted on the top of the pillar. A threaded eyepiece and triple button objective are held in place at either end of the barrel. A concave mirror in horseshoe mount is located at the base of the pillar. A stage with central aperture is mounted on the pillar, the position of which is controlled via a tightening screw beneath the stage. Focus is controlled by moving the stage.

The instrument is stored in a walnut box with a hinged lid and two swing clasps. The interior of the box has inbuilt fittings to hold the microscope and accessories.
