Description

Instrument consist of a central bar with three hinged arms at either end. Each arm is attached at its top and base to the central bar. The middle hinge of each arm holds a rectangular metal plate. Central bar is hollow and open at one end. A tapering bar extends from opposite end, tapering into a square shaped fixture.

A telescope barrel can be slotted onto tapering bar. Telescope has a an eyepiece halfway along barrel, and a single lens mounted at end of barrel. Lens housing extends via a lever in side of barrel. Telescope has a push off dust cap.

A metal tool with turned wooden handle attaches onto square fixture at end of tapering bar.

Instrument is stored in a wooden box with inbuilt, felt lined supports. Box has two swing clasps and a key operated lock. Adhered to inside lid of box is manufacturer's original label.
