Description

Pair of scales in oak case, by Young & Son, London. The steel beam has swan neck ends and the brass pans are suspended by green cords.

The oak MUB has wire hinges and a brass hook on top of the lid. There are no weight pens. A label is pasted inside the lid and lists Avoirdupois, Troy and Apothecary weights. Accompanied by 19 brass weights and a needle shaped object. Weights include 3 circular weights. 4 roughly cut brass square weights and 3 roughly cut square weights with circular shaped stamps.
