Description

In MS Gunther 9, f.126v, Hartwell House commonplace book, volume 1. Salted paper print from calotype negative of Holyrood House, Edinburgh, with two carriages parked at the front. Pale sepia, with darker reddish-brown blotches from the adhesive. Captioned (beneath, on the album page) 'Holyrood'. No other associated inscription or indication of photographer, source, or date; its date context in the volume is mixed, apparently 1840-41 but with both earlier and later things adjacent.
