Description
Woodburytype mounted directly on to the printed page of the periodical, on the front of the issue for August 15, 1878 (vol.6 no.133), page 325. Portrait of Ernst Werner Siemens, seated half length, turned to left but looking nearly front. Rich chocolate brown. The photograph accompanies a biographical article (pages 325-7). The companion photographs in the same volume (of his brother C. W. Siemens and of D. E. Hughes) are both by J. E. Mayall, but presumably Werner Siemens was photographed in Germany.
