Description

Three layers of drawing instruments in velvet fitted trays in wooden case by William Elliott.

Consists of following:

Wooden case, with metal plaques on top and front surfaces. Metal decorative plates on corners and edges of the case;

Small metal key;

Wooden, blue velvet lined top tray, with 17 assorted metal drawing instruments. Including nine assorted metal and ivory ruler pens/dotted line pens/compasses; 1 ivory and metal needle (grafo-stylus?); 3 metal instruments with pencils attached; 1 metal triangular shaped instrument; 2 large metal pincers and a Proportional compass which spins and moves upwards or downwards;

Wooden, velvet lined tray divided into 3 compartments;

Ivory Sector, with metal hinge;

Ivory Parallel ruler, with metal decorative hinges, the sections of ivory can pull apart to sit parallel to each other;

Combination ivory rectangular protractor and rolling parallel rule;

Ivory Scale, with curved indentation at one end;

Metal file with sharp pointed tip;

Metal section in a flat, triangular shape with curved edges at the base and tip;

Colour list, handwritten in ink on folded piece of paper, found in base of case;

Ceramic colour palette, with 6 shallow compartments;

Wooden handle possibly for part of a drawing instrument;

Drawing instrument with a wooden handle and metal nib;

Metal tube, could be a dual ended nib;
