Description

Albumen print mounted on card, framed and glazed. Portrait of Henry Perigal, seated half length, turned slightly left but looking front. Strong sepia-brown colour. The photograph is about the size of a carte de visite. The elaborate black and (formerly) gilt frame is made of wood, plaster, and relief-decorated thin gilt brass, now darkened; a large ring is attached to the top edge for hanging. Richard Inwards' inscription on the back is remounted from earlier backing paper.
