Numbered 1 on a white dot-label.

Description

Wooden box containing 35 lecture Lantern Slides on ‘X-Rays, ß-Rays, Ionisation Discharge in gases, Cathode Rays, Positive Rays, Inertia of Electrons.’ Within the box there are 3 pieces of scrunched newspaper used as padding, plus a folded piece of newspaper from the ‘Daily Mirror, Monday, May 2 1959’. The wooden box has a hinged lid and is secured at the front with hook fastenings to the front. There are 3 labels, one is partially obscured, attached to the front; these read ‘1’, ‘Radioactive’ and ‘X-Rays, ß-Rays, Ionisation Discharge in gases, Cathode Rays, Positive Rays, Inertia of Electrons.’ Inside the wooden box there are 4 labels, one is partially obscured, three of the labels have handwritten notes on them, with the fourth label reading ‘Radioactivity Rays II / L IX’ – some of these labels are MS identifications. The glass lantern slides are edged with black and white paper.
