- WAC. 115 The Dodo Watercolour by C.A. Marlborough, 1847 One of the best-known exhibits in the original Tradescant Collection was the stuffed Dodo, or "Dodar, from the Island of Mauritius". Now of course extinct, this was the bird which inspired the character in Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".
