- Purchased from R. S. Clay in 1944. Part of the Clay Collection. The Royal Polytechnic slides were sold by auction in 1882. They were made for projection at the Royal Polytechnic Institution, Regent Street, London, open 1838-1876, whose shows were the most spectacular magic lantern shows ever staged.
