Description

Gilt brass box with the compass-card in the lid painted on thin paste-board; scaphe dial with the hour-lines [and the equator and the tropics] represented by an adjustable grid so that the scaphe can be used in any latitude from 0° to about 42°. Hour lines are numbered for both ordinary and Italian hours.
