Ebony octant, by Eliott Brothers, London, 1850s in wooden case with brass eyepieces.

This ebony octant has an ivory scale and vernier. The inlaid ivory scale runs from -5deg to 110deg, the vernier reads 0-20. There are 2 brass eyepieces and two end pieces - one of which is attached and the other is kept spare.
