Description

Augsburg type, gilt eight-sided base with silvered-brass hour ring (traces only), hinged quadrant and compass dial with circular inset beneath base with names of towns and their latitudes. In octagonal case of red leather and tool markings around edge, and with black silk lining.The original case might be inv. no. 41360.
