Description

The pillar stands on a weighted horseshoe foot. A compass joint at the top of the pillar supports the limb and stage. The limb is cylindrical with a double mill-edged knob at the top that operates the fine focus. A shaped arm holds the body tube on the rack and pinion for coarse focus. The nosepiece has a rotating fitting for three objectives, two are present. The stage is mechanical with Vernier scales in both directions of movement. Below the stage are a condenser and a plano-concave mirror. The condenser mounting allows it to be moved up and down for focusing. At its lowest setting it can pivot out of the path of the light.
