Description

Adaptable to act as solar microscope. A copper alloy tripod holds a mount of lignum-vitae into which the copper alloy barrel of the microscope screws. A decorated copper alloy arm from the tripod carries an oval mirror. Focusing is by a fine screw attached to the side of the barrel. There is a wooden case, with copper alloy decorative escutcheon, ring handle to top and 3 internal drawers, the bottom drawer contains eleven 19th century specimen materials in paper, three objectives, one Lieberkühn carrier, a specimen holder, copper alloy carrier, pin with mica disc, ivory slider and iron tweezers.
