Description

Black leather-covered slip case containing a box designed to look like a book covered in brown leather with gilded ornamentation. Book box is held closed by a narrow wooden pencil with a metal end that slides through a series of three leather loops on the box. The book box contains two trays, each divided into 56 compartments; each compartment holds a sample in a tiny glass jar stoppered with a cork. The box also contains two handwritten sheets of paper which identify the contents of each bottle in shorthand.
