Description

Card box containing five card boxes, a metal tin, an envelope and three loose items.

The two small brown card boxes each contain a large magnifying lens mounted in coper alloy wrapped in plastic, alongside the lenses are some notes "Carrington T.C. / South Coll. O.G." and "The rest of the telescope last...taken...pres...depot / Wolverest[?] / on April 5. 1935 / T.A.B." in one box and "Carrington T.C. / North Coll. O.G." and "AQY".

One small pink paper covered card box containing three small square glass sheets with numbers arranged in a particular pattern, one of the glass sheets is inscribed "1886 June", and a circular box for "Blended Tea" containing a glass lens padded with cotton wool.

A card box from Boots containing a wad of absorbent lint.

A red sliding card box inscribed "With Great Care / Old long-focus Object glass" containing a large glass disc with one flat side and one conves side.

A metal tin inscribed "Children's cough Pastilles" containing four paper packets of specimens, each containing slate counters.

A paper envelope labelled "R.T. Gunther, Esq.," The envelope contains two pairs of glass slides with circular lines spreading out from the centre, the slides are held together by black wax in the corners.

Two tiles each with one dull side and one shiny side. they are both labelled "Ex Radcliffe Observatory", a loose piece of paper is sandwiched between them.
