Description

A substantial wooden box with hinged lid and handles at each end containing a range of tools, including chisels punches, chucks and fittings which appear to relate to lathe working. Also some telescope fittings and the remains of interior box fittings. The box has the remains of a paper label 'Gregorian Terl..../(Stand)' below the lock.

This is possibly an instance of the Museum founder Robert Gunther reusing a box made for a specific object to store unrelated accessories, tools and metal fittings.
