Description

A soft brown leather covered rolled case with a metal clasp. The case folds out to two sections with rectangular flaps of leather at each end to protect the ends of the instruments, with a silk lining; the two sections fold out to two pockets. The inside is red leather and green paper, with a strip of leather down the middle, sewn to create seven pockets for instruments. Inside the case are: A set of four straight-handled metal retractable instruments with tortoiseshell handles: A hook, two straight blades and a round-ended instrument. A curved retractable metal blade with a curved tortoiseshell handle. A pair of metal scissors with pointed ends. A flat metal instrument, possibly a palette knife (?), which is rectangular in shape, with rounded corners. It has three holes towards one end of the instrument, perhaps to affix a handle. A metal scoop instrument with one end broader than the other. A set of three curved needles which have triangular cross-section points.
