Description

Polychrome drug jar decorated with image of female figure accompanied by two children and surrounded by flower and foliage designs. Inscribed: "HOSP.MAI.CHAR.CIV.NOV"

"Philon.rom". The inscription is said to mean: philonium romanum, a hypnotic medicament made from opium and other ingredients.
