Description
Black Empire typewriter with qwerty key arrangement and side attachment for 'Caps' and 'Figs'. Two reels connected with ink ribbon, right nearly full and left nearly empty. Empty paper feed roller held up with mechanism. With black, metal case, with Empire stamped on removable lid and black metal handle. Inside lid is raffle ticket '181'. Sheet of burned paper inside case '"The Empire" typewriter, c.1905, formerly the property of Miss Helen Elizabeth Lascelles, later Lady Machagan [acc. no. 59-90].
