Description

A modern replica of a 15th century wall clock that consists of 2 parts. The first is a circular clock face with roman numerals in a wooden frame. It is attached to a rectangular wooden box that has a bell on top and a long metal chain with weights at the end. The second part is a verge and Foliot escapement. This consists of a circular light brown and red clock face with roman numerals that has been painted onto a metal disc. It is attached to a rectangular mechanism with gears and levers. Attached to this is a white string that has a large iron alloy ball weight tied on one end and small iron alloy weight tied to the other. There are also 2 iron alloy ball weights that are separate from the mechanism. The rate and swing of the Foliot may be controlled by adjusting the moveable weights on the fretted ends of the bar.
