Description
Copper alloy with some steel parts; on wooden stand with glazed hood. The turned brass pillars at the four corners of the clock, and other turned metalwork in its construction indicates a date of manufacture after about 1830. There is also an alarm (set by plugging a peg in one of the holes in the dial-plate) which is worked by a spring, wound from the back of the clock. The pulley system hangs down from the clock which attaches to the weight which is separate. The clock itself is ornately decorated with floral patterns.
