Description

Nuremberg Solar Microscope with an adjustable rectangular mirror.

Blackened, polished wooden base which consists of a panel which the microscope screws into. There is a frame for the mirror which is attached by a metal hinge to a cog wheel. The cog wheel can be rotated by a knob on the other side of the panel, adjusting the position of the mirror. The second knob winds a thread that controls the inclination of the mirror.

Inner body tube, constructed of pasteboard covered with decorated paper, which supports a spring stage and eyepiece.

Outer body tube, constructed of pasteboard covered with decorated papr, with a wooden base which screws into the wooden microscope base.

Rectangular mirror plate which is mounted into the frame on the microscope base. There is a mirror, a rectangle of paper and a layer of thin blackened wood.
