Description

Polished wood drum-type compound microscope with three pasteboard body tubes which push into each other.

Polished wood microscope base, with a plane mirror housed in a wooden cell with a square cross section. Its angle is adjusted by wooden disks on either side (one of which is missing). Above the level of the mirror are slots to hold sliders and at the top of the cell the optical components are mounted. At the top is a pasteboard tube covered with decorated paper, which accommodates pasteboard body tubes.

Polished wood dust cap which screws onto the eyepiece.

Pasteboard body tube covered with decorated paper topped by a wooden-mounted eyeoiece. The lens is held in place with an iron split ring. This body tube pushes into the body tube which holds the objective.

Pasteboard body tube covered with decorated paper and printed (written in German) paper, which pushes into the tube mounted on the base. This body tube has the wood-munted objective attached to it.

Polished wood dust cap which screws onto the objective.
