Description

A shaped support on a horseshoe foot holds the stage. A pivoting mount for a substage assembly is set below it and a plane mirror in a horseshoe mount below that. A cylindrical pillar stands on the rear of the stage. The body tube pushes into a sleeve on an arm attached top the top of the pillar. It slides in the sleeve for coarse focusing. A mill-headed screw at the bottom of the pillar raises and lowers the arm for fine focusing (.1) .

The microscope has a rectangular wooden case, with an ivory inlaid key hole. The case has inbuilt wooden supports for holding accessories (.9). Held within the case are the following accessories: two objectives in green leather covered boxes (.2), two eyepieces (.3), a condenser (.4), three aperture discs of differing aperture sizes (.5), seven blank glass slides (.6), the key for the microscope case (.7), a metal ring with an internal screw thread (.8).
