Formerly the property of Maurice Horner. Horner material was acquired by the Museum in the late 1930s from the Horner family of Mells Park, Somerset. A typed letter on headed notepaper addressed to M. Horner Esq., 12 St Helens Place, EC.

Fitted mahogany box containing microscope accessories which include eleven cans containing ten objectives, nine eyepieces, a copper alloy cylinder in a collar, a paraboloid dark ground condenser, two Nicol prisms, a dark stop mounted in a copper alloy cylinder, a camera lucida, a copper alloy canister of glass disks, a light diffuser, a blue filter, a red filter, two Lieberkühn, a “B” eyecap, two sets of stage forceps, four specimen live boxes on copper alloy plates, a fish or frog-plate, a specimen compressor, a reflector on a steel pin, a nosepiece for two objectives, copper alloy forceps/tweezers, a glass pipette and a box of circular coverslips by C. Baker of London. There is also a letter from Ross Ltd. Dated 1908, to Mr. Horner; a piece of paper with magnifications of lenses; and a clipping from 'English Mechanic and World of Science No. 2714', March 30th 1917.
