Description

An ivory turned handle screws into the end of a copper alloy arm which carries a threaded ring at the other end. A compass joint is set on the arm near the socket for the handle that holds stage forceps on a steel pin with an ivory black and white disk. There are four objective lenses, two with Lieberkuhn. The box is softwood, covered in black fish skin, lined in the lid with green silk and in the base with green velvet. Each end of the case has a glass-lidded compartment. They contain 48 small coffin-shaped strips of card that vary in size.
