Optical Cabinet Containing Three Microscopes and Accessories

The case contains three copper alloy microscopes, a rack-barrel microscope, a compound microscope and a solar microscope. A socket on the rack barrel fits a square peg attached by a hinge to the top of a turned pillar with a flat folding tripod base. The lenses are in a copper alloy slide. A socket on the base takes the concave mirror. The solar microscope has a rectangular mirror, a back plate and a body tube. The optical component of the rack-barrel microscope screws onto the end of the body. The compound body tube fits a stand similar to that for the rack-barrel but with a square cross sectioned pillar. The stage is held on the pillar by two sleeves that slide for coarse focusing. Fine focus is achieved of a vertical screw between the sleeves. There are also five objectives for the compound body, an objective in a Lieberkühn, a Lieberkühn in a can, a Plano-concave mirror and a concave mirror in horseshoe mounts, copper alloy forceps, stage forceps, a circular spring stage, an ivory talc box, an ivory black and white disk, a cardboard box with seven glass slides, a fishplate with a silk ribbon and two shutter screws. The fitted case is covered in black fish skin and lined in blue velvet.
