Description

This microscope has a flat folding tripod with a fixed pillar; a mill edged screw on rackwork extends the pillar. A plano-concave mirror is attached to the pillar with a horseshoe bracket. The conical eyepiece pushes into the body tube which has a conical lower half which is threaded at the nose where it screws into the objective arm. The objective arm pushes into the bracket the top of the pillar, and has a rotatable dial containing six objectives. The circular stage pushes into a dovetail on the pillar, and has three holes for stage instruments. There is also a three-aperture swivel stage and two arms which fix together to make an articulated arm. There is a substage condenser which would be attached by an arm. There is also a fishplate with green ribbon, an ivory slider with four specimen apertures, and a circular mill-edged knob. The instrument is housed in a hinged wooden box with two swing clasp fastenings and a lock mechanism. Inside, there are wooden supports for the instrument and accessories which are lined with green fabric.
