Description

Copying press in a square mahogany box with copper alloy reinforced corners, hinges, handles, and a lock.  Inside of the base of the case, there are five compartments, one of which holds a pair of gilt rollers with an attachable mahogany and copper alloy key to turn the rollers. Two of the other compartments hold metal inkwells. The fourth compartment has a rectangular lacquered metal case with a glass stoppered bottle inside and painted black with gold decoration on the outside. In the largest centre compartment, there is a wooden tray insert with white paper sheets and two notebooks, one labelled "THE WETTING BOOK" and the other labelled "THE DRYING BOOK" placed within; a piece of thick brown paper is on top of the white paper, with a label that says "Interleaving oiled Paper for Quarto Letters.". In the lid of the box, there is a hinged tablet which folds out of the case into two parts. The tablet can be supported by a copper alloy stand which pivots out of the case and has arms that fold outwards.  Contained within, there was a second identical rectangular lacquered metal case with a glass stoppered bottle inside. There is also a wooden half-pipe painted black contained in the lid. There is green fabric on the very base of the case.
