Description

Large monocular compound microscope and body tube. The microscope (46086.1) has a cylindrical pillar that stands on a circular base and an inner pillar that can extend upwards. A heavy compass joint carries the cylindrical limb and a plano-concave mirror is mounted at the lower end of the limb. Two mill-edged knobs on the limb operate a rack and pinion that extends a post from within the limb. The arm for the body tube is set on a rack and pinion that moves it over the stage. The eyepiece has a blackened eyecup and screws into the top of the body. Three objectives that can be used in combination screw to an external thread at the lower end of the tube. The square stage is mounted on two posts set between two collars on the limb. A spring stage fits the stage hole. The body tube (46086.2) screws into a ring on the end of an arm at the top of the post.
