Description

The stand is cast iron coated with green enamel. A cylindrical pillar stands on a flat tripod foot. The limb and stage support are mounted to one side of the pillar on a compass joint. The mechanical, copper alloy stage has a rectangular stage plate, rotates on its mounting and has a sliding spring bracket. The copper alloy body tube is held in a sleeve, inscribed with the maker's name. A rack and pinion, operated by a mill-edged screw, on the side of the sleeve, raises or lowers the body for focusing. The eyepiece has a blackened eyecup and screws to the top of the body. A screw on the front of the nose operates the fine focus. No objective is present. A condenser is mounted below the stage and the plano-concave mirror is mounted on a post that extends below the stage.
