Description

Jones-type microscope in wooden case with accessories. The copper alloy instrument stands on a flat, folding tripod foot. A compass joint on a turned pillar holds the limb. Rackwork cut into the limb allows the stage to be raised or lowered for focusing. An arm extends from a rack and pinion mechanism at the top of the limb that supports the body tube. The square stage has a circular stage hole, two steel spring clips and three pin holes for accessories. Below the stage is a pivoting arm which a bracket for accessories can be attached to, a bracket for a condenser and a plano-concave mirror.
