Description

A cylindrical pillar stands on a flat tripod foot, inscribed with the manufacturer's name. There is a pinhole on the foot to hold the mirror. No mirror is present. A rack and pinion, operated by a mill-edged knob on the rear of the pillar, extends a triangular bar vertically. A rack and pinion at the top of the bar moves an arm, with a split ring, horizontally. The mechanism also swivels. The simple eyepieces push into the ring. Two of the lenses are threaded to take a Lieberkuhn. The stage is a copper alloy plate with a recessed stage hole, a bracket to hold specimens and two pinholes. It is attached by two screws at the top of the pillar. There are three eyepieces, two Lieberkuhn, two glass disks and stage forceps. The fitted box is mahogany and the supports are faced with green felt.
