Description

The brass body tube has an eyepiece set in a blackened brass eyecap that covers the top lens. The lower part of the body narrows at the objective end with an internal screw thread to take the objective mountings. This tube pushes into a brass tube mounted inside the support. The inner tube can be racked up and down inside the support by means of a double mill-edge knob fastened to the tube and working on a rack which is screwed to the side of the outer tube. The body tube is carried on a rectangular brass limb at the base of which the stage is mounted. The limb is mounted on a compass joint on a turned brass pillar that stands on a flat tripod. The body tube is supported at the eyepiece end by a telescoping rod, mounted on the largest of the feet of the tripod base. The stage is rectangular with a central stage hole and has two semi-circular indentations at its edge for bayonet attachments. Mounted below this stage is a spring stage to hold quite large objects in place. Where the stage joins the limb there is a brass arm with a pinhole to hold superstage accessories.

Accessories include: seven objectives, a pair of brass tweezers and a brass rod with a cylinder mounted at its mid point, a wooden mahogany slider with two D-shaped plates of glass, two large Lieberkuhns set on brass plates to carry, three brass collars, two condensing lenses mounted in brass, A hand magnifier mounted An aquatio box, blued steel stage forceps, a well for the aquatic box and a small brass cannister with a pinhole in the lid, four trays of opaque specimens, a blackened brass ring set on a collar, a Bonani spring stage, a bull's-eye condenser lens, a scalpel with a turned ivory handle; a pair of steel scissors, a steel pin with a turned ivory handle, steel plate with a screwdriver, a plano-concave mirror and a fitted wooden case.
