Description

The lamp is supported by a retort stand. The base is a brass ring; the vertical bar has a square cross section and is graduated in inches. The lamp rests on a ring on an arm, which is held on the stand by a sprung collar. The glass reservoir is suspended below the arm and has a glass stopper. Above is the lamp with a metal housing with two windows covered by microscope slides (.3). A horseshoe mount pivots on two rods set vertically each side of the lamp. A dovetail bar extends from the mount on which a bracket can slide.

Bull's-eye lens held by bracket which attaches to horseshoe mount. The position of the lens can be set with a screw that passes though a slot in an elongated plate on the side of the lamp.

Two microscope slides used to cover windows to metal housing of lamp, second slide is no longer detachable from main body of lamp.
