The lamp rests on a ring on an arm, which is held on the stand by a sprung collar. The glass reservoir is suspended below the arm and has a glass stopper. Above is the lamp with a metal housing with two windows covered by microscope slides (.3). A horseshoe mount pivots on two rods set vertically each side of the lamp. A dovetail bar extends from the mount on which a bracket can slide.
