Description

Silhouette portrait (painted on card) of Stephen Peter Rigaud (1774-1839), unsigned (possibly by Augustin Edouart), c.1820, in oval frame and with manuscript inscription on back by Gibbes Rigaud (1881), who gave it to the Radcliffe Observatory; from the Radcliffe Observatory, Pretoria, which presented it to the Department of Astrophysics in the early 1990s.
